Josh's Birthday Celebration

We had a great time at Josh's 11th Birthday celebration.

We had 2 coaches from school come to the park...
20 kids - 16 5th grade boys and the rest girls...

They played basketball, dodgeball and capture the flag for 2 hours.
It was great fun!

Josh got some great gifts and told me that it was his best birthday ever!

He's 5 feet tall and has a men's size 8 shoe.
How is that possible?!

Joshua's 11th Birthday

My baby is 11! I can't believe it!
He wears a mens size eight shoe and is 5 feet tall. He is officially the same height as me.
He hands are as big as mine and he looks me eye to eye.
It's crazy.
I find myself having dejavu moments when I look at him. I can't believe 11 years ago he was born and 11 years ago my life changed and I became a mother.
Moments & Memories. That is what life is about.

He played in the All Star Baseball Game yesterday - his third game back since his injury and had a great time! He was grinning and on the game the whole time. Got a few great hits and even scored two runs. His team won 12 - 11.
It was an exciting day!

Yosemite

The Whole Gang. 9 cousins in all; ranging in age from 5 1/2 to 12 1/2.

Love this one of the girls. Really laughing! This is Madi & Lily. They are sisters.

Yosemite Falls. It was amazing how much wind the roaring water was creating! It was FREEZING here!

Boys at Yosemite Falls. They were so cold! Daniel was in his glory. Collecting sticks and looking at rocks and being a BOY!

Half Dome.

We took a weekend away for Nanny's 70th birthday celebration.

We went with the whole Rosen Crew and stayed in a house that had a dining table that comfortably sat all of us around it ... it also had sleeping accomodations for 24!

We arrived Friday afternoon and Daniel was thrilled - there were patches of snow around!

All of the cousins arrived shortly after and the boys were so excited to be able to run around and play!

We spent Saturday in Yosemite taking small walks and some of the more thrill seekers hiked all the way to the top of Vernal falls - including Ben & Daniel! They were so proud of themselves!

All in all it was a fun weekend, albeit short, but fun, nonetheless!

Josh vs. the Baseball Update #2

Josh is still having trouble with his eye.
He is really complaining of pain and headaches pretty regularly.
The doc released him to go back to school; however he has come home every day to go to bed.

We went to the doctor on Thursday (4/30) and she said that all looks well; she feels it may just take time.
I am watching him like a hawk and debating how long I wait until I seek a second (or third - if you count the ER) opinion.

In the meantime he had STAR testing all week and battled thru it and it continues this week too.
OY!
