Summer Surf Camp

Boys spent a week at Summer Surf Camp!
Daniel was so excited to see me when I picked him up and Josh gave me the "Don"... a Nod in acknowledgment that he knows I am there.

Josh's summer counselor pulled me aside and told me that he was an incredible kid. He was always willing to be helpful and was so responsible.

He then went on to tell me that they give one award a week for an outstanding camper in all of the YMCA Values... Josh won it! Griff won it too! I was very pleased... he told me, "Mom, it really was no big deal." I know I have a great kid... I wish he could act great all of the time!

Mama duck is happy to have her chicks back home!

Fourth of July

We spent Fourth of July in Palm Desert.

We got a one week time share villa at a Marriott Resort for $400.
Couldn't pass it up!

Allen's Mom and Dad went with us... nice spending time with them...
kids love spending time with them!

We swam, we ate, we swam some more and we roasted!
We didn't realize how hot 115 was... now we know... and we will rethink our idea for a summer get away next year... even if it was such a great deal!

We are looking forward to our vacation next month to the mountains... hopefully the weather will be much cooler!

Karen and Joel got tickets for the MJ Memorial.

They wanted to sell them.
When we realized they couldn't sell them - we encouraged them to go.

Karen was worried about what to wear!

They ended up going...
and they called from the show and told us they were so happy they went...
that it was INCREDIBLE!

How fun for them...
and how fun for us to hear all about it first hand!

7th Annual Swim Party

Can you believe...

We had our 7th Annual Swim Party yesterday.

Not my regular open door policy ... but fun nonetheless!
I think this will continue to be a tradition that my kids love.

End of School 2009

School is done.
Thankfully!

Josh completed 6th grade with all As. We are very proud of him! He worked hard and he was very proud of himself too.

Ben completed 4th grade. He did well in school too. He had a very difficult year with struggles in school and with friends ... but all in all, we survived!

Daniel completed 2nd grade. He got all 4s too. He is very smart and very eager to learn and eager to please. He is looking very forward to 3rd grade.

We have much to be proud of. Three boys. Three happy, smart boys.

Ben's Birthday

Ben is a funny boy.

Yesterday was his tenth birthday.
I had a surprise party for him.
Just a few friends came for swimming and lunch.
It rained.
Figures.

He was surprised.
But annoyed.
He told me he didn't like it.

He wants to know what is happening in his life.
He doesn't like surprises.
I told him I do.
I guess we don't see eye to eye!

He is a very sweet boy...
I can't believe it's been 10 years since he was born.
He is sensitive, he is funny, he is an actor, he is quiet, he has come so far in his life!
